What is CPIc

CPIc is the Construction Project Information Committee, responsible for providing best practice guidance on the content, form and preparation of construction production information (CPI), and making sure this best practice is disseminated throughout the UK construction industry.

Who are we

The Committee is formed from representatives of the major industry institutions which ensures that the guidance we provide has a solid foundation within all branches of the industry.

Why is CPI important

CPI has been involved in promoting the quality of design information and collaboration in the design process. The work of CPIc has been recognized by Egan and Latham and members of CPIC were key contributors to BS 1192. With the advent of 3D modelling CPI is involved in developing CAD standards, CAD protocols, CAD methods and CAD management plans.
Adopting the code of procedures set out in Production Information will lead to lean and sustainable construction. The Avanti project, based on the procedures in Production Information, demonstrated the savings in costs, waste and delays on site that can be achieved. The latest CPI project will provide tools and guidance on all aspects of project information management including life cycle costing and sustainability.
