CPIx on line tools

CPI is developing two new on line tools, the Uniclass tool to generate layer files and a request tool for new classifications. An industry trial version is now available here. Please let us know your feedback so that we can make the final version live.

CPIx Layer Generator.

The CPIx Layer Generator tool can be used to create an AutoCAD script File, Bentley script File or a Text file with Layer names complying with the CPI Uniclass standard.
 

Generating New Uniclass Codes.

The opportunity exists to submit a request for a new Uniclass code. New requests will be considered by CPI and added to the latest version of Uniclass where appropriate.
 

CPIC is currently involved in two major areas of development.

Uniclass

Uniclass is a classification system for the construction industry which is the UK version of BS EN ISO 12006. It is recommended as the classification to be adopted in order to comply with BS 1192:2007. CPIC has set up a group to monitor suggestions for changes to the classification and is also working with the ICE to add to the Civil Engineering tables.

Defining deliverables for BIM

CPIC is working with other industry organisations to develop a definition of the deliverables involved in the processes for BIM.
