The case studies from this project illustrate the savings that can be made if these procedures are adopted.
Adopting Building information modelling (BIM) for managing information from concept to grave means sharing information with the right people at the right time and requires a unified approach to classification. The current UK standard classification, Uniclass, consists of a number of tables that provide a good framework but it is not well aligned for mapping from one table to another.
A set of tables are now available as the first phase of the consultation process in which you are invited to comment and help develop the Unified Uniclass.
CPI has been working with the BIM task group to provide supporting material for implementing the BIM process. The CPIx BIM strategy templates are a set of forms and checklists intended to help clients and their project teams develop a Project Information exchange Protocol for their projects.
An industry trial version of the CPIx Uniclass web based tool is now available from this website under the CPIx on line tools tab.
